Maa Skandamata Aarti

(Devanagari Sacred Verses)
Text size

English Meaning & Significance

Victory to you, Skandamata. Yours is the fifth sacred name of Navadurga. She knows every heart and is the mother of the world. May I keep your lamp lit and always meditate on you. I have called you by many names, yet you are my only support. Her abode is on mountains and in many cities, she is seen in every temple, and her dear devotees sing her virtues. Grant me devotion and set right my broken strength. When Indra and all the gods cried out at her door and wicked demons attacked, she alone raised the sword. She always comes to save her servants and to fulfil every prayer.
