Maa Katyayani Aarti

(Devanagari Sacred Verses)
Text size

English Meaning & Significance

Hail Ambe, hail Katyayani, mother and queen of the world. Her seat is Baijnath, where she is called the boon-giver (Vardati). She has many names and many shrines, and this one too is an abode of joy. Her flame burns in every temple, and as Yogeshvari her glory is unique. Festivals are always held and devotees in every temple proclaim her. Katyayani protects the body and cuts the knot of attachment and illusion. She frees us from false attachment and makes us chant her name. Worship her on Thursday and meditate on Katyayani. She will remove every crisis and fill the stores. Whichever devotee calls on the Mother, Katyayani ends all their suffering.
